Brazilian Sensation To Make Decision On Future With Manchester United Heavily Linked

Brazilian sensation Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa has announced that he is ready to make a final decision on his future, with Manchester United keen on the striker.

The Santos star, 19, has been outstanding in Brazil and appeared for his country at the recent Rio Olympics, and has a long list of suitors pursuing his signature.

Arsenal were rumoured to be interested in the summer, but now it appears that is is Jose Mourinho’s United who are amongst the front runners to acquire Barbosa.

However, it seems that Barcelona is his preferred destination, with the likelihood being that Gabigol wishes to play with compatriot Neymar at the Catalan giants.

He said: “Up until now, I haven’t really had the time to think about anything because my attention was completely on the Olympics.

“Now I will celebrate with my family, then I will return to Santos and think about what I should do.”

Manchester United

United have already signed four players this summer in the form of Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba but it’s clear Mourinho has not finished strengthening his squad.

Jose Fonte, Southampton captain and Euro 2016 winner with Portugal, is another target in a move which is likely to be completed before the end of the transfer window.

The imminent £12m capture could see the end of Phil Jones’s career at Old Trafford.

Marcos Rojo could also follow the Englishman through the exit door, continuing a lengthening list of departures.

Tyler Blackett, James Wilson and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson have all joined Championship clubs, whilst Adnan Januzaj, Donald Love and Paddy McNair are now working under David Moyes at Sunderland.

We can’t see Barbosa joining United in this transfer window, but with the club becoming stronger, it may be only a matter of time.
