Deadline Day: Manchester City To Send Four Players Out On Loan

While Manchester City’s incoming business has been completed for the summer, Pep Guardiola still has a lot of deadwood to shift.

Selling the fringe players is proving to be something of a challenge for the 2014 Premier league champions, so a number of loan arrangements are set to be agreed within the next 12 or so hours.

Further to the news from yesterday that Joe Hart’s move to Torino is just about completed (with official confirmation expected any minute), and the latest from this morning that striker Wilfired Bony has arrived at Stoke City to finalise a temporary stay at the Bet365 Stadium, two more unwanted yet remarkably expensive players are heading to La Liga.

England goalkeeper Joe Hart arrived in Turin on Agust 30 ahead of undergoing a medical that should see him sign a season-long loan deal with the unfashionable Serie A club.

Samir Nasri, he of late 90’s-style bleached hair and having “put on a bit” over the summer, is en route to Seville to agree terms on a season-long loan deal to Europa League winners Sevilla. The (former) French international played his first competitive minutes under Pep Guardiola in last weekend’s 3-1 win against West Ham, but was previously told by the manager that he was free to leave if the right offer came in.

Meanwhile, Eliaquim Managala, the most ridiculous waste of money since those European castles Nicolas Cage bought, is set to move to Valencia after former club Porto cooled their interest last night (as per Sky Sports’ Guillem Balague).

Mangala is another who has slipped down the pecking order, with Guardiola even preferring to use natural left-back Aleksandar Kolarov ahead of the French international.

All four of those deals are expected to get over the line in the coming hours, and barring any last-minute hiccups, Pep’s squad is going to look a lot less bloated by this time tomorrow.

No hint (as yet) of Yaya Touré leaving, however…
