Former Chelsea Manager Mooted To Replace Van Gaal At Manchester United

Persistent rumours are linking Louis van Gaal with a summer exit from Manchester United…

With Manchester United currently playing the most boring football in the history of the Premier League, several reports are suggesting that Louis van Gaal could be set for an exit prior to his contract expiration in summer 2017.

Stories broke in Italy earlier this week claiming that Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri could be the next man in line to take the reigns at Old Trafford. However, breaking reports this morning have suggested that Manchester United have their eyes on another Italian.

Carlo Ancelotti parted company with Real Madrid in the summer of 2015, much to the dismay of the majority of the Bernabeu faithful. Despite two impressive seasons with Los Blancos, in which he claimed the highly coveted ‘Decima’ for Real, the powers that be somewhat bizarrely elected to replace him with the mediocre Rafael Benitez.

With Manchester United currently just one point off the top of the table, Louis van Gaal is doing quite an admirable job at Old Trafford at present. However, it seems that the fans are unhappy with the brand of football that the Dutch manager is implementing at the club and, if rumours are to be believed, the board are considering replacing the Iron Tulip next summer.

A host of names have been rumoured to be next in line at the club with Ryan Giggs repeatedly named as a shoe in for the hot seat. However, according to the Express, Manchester United now believe that a more proven candidate is needed to instill, not just a winning mentality, but an exciting brand of football.

Carlo Ancelotti has already proven his worth in the Premier League as the only Chelsea manager aside from Jose Mourinho who has the won the title at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League era.
