Former Ireland International Liam Miller Has Passed Away

Former Ireland international Liam Miller has passed away aged 36.

The ex-Manchester United and Celtic man, who would have turned 37 next week, made 21 appearances for Ireland in a career which lasted 16 years.

Starting out at Celtic, Miller then transferred to Manchester United in 2004 before spells with Sunderland, Hibernian, Melbourne City and hometown club Cork City amongst others.

He made his debut for Ireland in March 2004 against the Czech Republic and scored his one and only goal for the Boys in Green against Sweden two years later before making his final international appearance in 2009.

It was widely reported for some time that Miller had been ill.

Since his passing, a host of tributes have been paid to the Cork man.
