Jose Mourinho has been busy renovating Manchester United ahead of the new season, but who could he be planning to sell?
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Eric Bailly and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have all joined the new era at Old Trafford, but their arrivals signal the departures of some.
Let’s take a look..
The deal that will take Paul Pogba to Manchester United means that the Germany midfielder will face an even larger uphill task to break into the United team than he did in 2015/16.
Morgan Schneiderlin, Ander Herrera, Marouane Fellaini and Michael Carrick are all arguably ahead of the Bayern legend, and the 31-year-old is unlikely to feature in Jose Mourinho’s team.
The Daily Mail have linked Schweinsteiger with moves to Besiktas and Paris Saint-Germain.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has joined Mourinho in his new era in a move which significantly strengthens the Red Devils striking options, whilst Marcus Rashford’s rapid development has somewhat hampered Wilson’s progress at Old Trafford.
Last season, the promising young forward spent time with Brighton and impressed, and now looks set to join Fulham on loan.
Despite introducing the likes of Axel Tuanzebe into games during pre-season, it remains to be seen if Mourinho will include the team’s younger players in the future, so Wilson’s time with the club could come to a permanent end after this season.
Rojo has truly failed to impress since joining from Sporting Lisbon two years ago. The Argentinian has looked continually suspect whenever he has played, and his shambolic performance in the recent defeat to Dortmund has resulted in fans calling for his sale.
Eric Bailly has signed from Villareal for £30m, and is expected to line up with Chris Smalling at centre-back. Luke Shaw is also making steady progress in his return from injury, so Rojo will struggle to be chosen as a left-back either. A departure seemingly awaits.
Jose Mourinho has said that there is space for the Spaniard at the club earlier last week, but warned that there will be no promises of first-team football. However, Everton are known to be heavily keen on the 28-year-old, who was United’s third highest scorer across all competitions last season.
Ronald Koeman will want to add to his team with players of immense quality, and the former Chelsea midfielder would certainly fit the bill. Farhad Moshiri’s takeover the club allows the Merseyside outfit to offer an excessive amount for Mata and still be in a comfortable financial place, something that may tempt Mourinho into a sale.
Finally, it appears that one of Louis van Gaal’s preferred names in his first eleven is set to leave Manchester United following a mixed two years. In midfield, Blind struggled at times, but he appeared to strike a rapport with Chris Smalling in defence.
However, Bailly’s arrival changes things, and Blind is more than likely to be surplus to requirements with Morgan Schneiderlin and Michael Carrick staying with the club. A number of United fans will be disappointed after convincing them with some impressive displays.
Daley Blind, Chris Smalling and Anthony Martial definitely played their part this season. Blind an incredibly underrated CB, been superb.

If Blind accepts a peripheral role his chances of remaining in Manchester will increase significantly, but it is unlikely that the 26-year-old will take anything other than first-team football next season.
