According to well regarded French papers Le Parisien and L’Equipe, two Manchester United players are set to complete their transfers to Ligue 1 today.
As most will be aware at this stage, Angel Di Maria has been on the missing list for some time and many have reported that a deal that will see him signing for French champions PSG is almost done and dusted.
Today, Le Parisien have notched the story up another rung as they have announced that the 27-year-old Champions League winner is expected in Doha today to complete his medical with the club.
PSG are expected to wrap up the Di Maria deal for 65 million euros which will see Manchester United taking a substantial loss on the highly rated winger.
Meanwhile, French broadsheet L’Equipe are reporting that Brazilian defender Rafael is in an identical position with another French club ahead of his €3m move to Lyon.
Rafael had looked for some time as if he was going to develop into The Red Devils first choice right back for years to come but it seems his Old Trafford days are now over.
Louis van Gaal recently commented that he needed someone at right back that could “defend” seemingly firing an awful shot in Rafael’s direction.
Indeed, it has seemed that the Brazilian in no way fitted in with The Iron Tulip’s “philosophy” as he hasn’t been handed a Premier League start since last October.
According to L’Equipe, Rafael will arrive in France today, and should complete his medical with Lyon by tomorrow.
UPDATE: Rafael has now seemingly confirmed the move on Twitter. Check out his somewhat sad tweet below.
