Liverpool have finally reached an agreement with Crystal Palace regarding the sale of Belgium international, Christian Benteke.
According to a breaking report from the BBC, the two clubs have agreed on an initial fee of £27m with that figure potentially rising above the £30m mark based on performance related add-ons.
The news comes just days after it was reported that a bid of £23m plus £7m in add-ons was rejected by Liverpool.
According to the latest reports, Benteke will now travel to London to complete his medical and finalise the deal. In fact, should the transfer be completed in time, the 25-year-old could even feature for the Eagles in their clash with Tottenham Hotspurs this weekend.
Although Benteke scored just ten goals in 42 appearances with Liverpool, most still view him as a top striker and feel that he was simply a poor fit for both Brendan Rodgers, and Jurgen Klopp’s philosophies of football.
Crystal Palace fans will certainly be hoping that, under Alan Pardew, the Belgian striker can return to his best and once again be seen as one of the top forwards in the Premier League.
