Diego Costa has reportedly signed a precontract with Chinese Club Tianjin Quanjin in a deal said to be worth around €90 million to Chelsea.
Costa has been Chelsea’s top scorer this season, finding the net on 19 occasions in the Premier League. In recent times there have been many rumblings of Costa’s discontent, however.
And Cadena Ser now claim that Costa and his agent Jorge Mendes met with four representatives of the Chinese club in a London restaurant last Friday.
The move for Costa will reportedly see him earn a staggering €30 million-a-year and will see him join up with a squad which includes names such as Alexandre Pato and Axel Witsel.
It is well documented by now that the Chinese Super League have intended on luring players using their financial power, with Chelsea falling victim to this in January when Oscar left the club to play for Shanghai SIPG.
With the Blues just three victories away from capturing the Premier League title for the sixth time, Chelsea will be hopeful Costa’s focus will be solely on his current club for the foreseeable future. With Spurs breathing down their necks, just four points behind, there is no room for error.
The unhappy Romelu Lukaku is linked with a move back to Stamford Bridge, as he refuses to sign a new contract at Everton. It is also reported by Cadena Ser, however, that if the sale of Costa does go through, Conte has his eyes on Real Madrid frontman Alvaro Morata.
