The saga of Diego Costa rumbles on with another twist in this truly bizarre incident.
The club’s leading scorer reportedly fell out with his manager in the past week with an argument ending in Antonio Conte shouting at his star man:
“Go to China!”
The pair are now set for crisis talks on Tuesday in the club’s training ground, Sky Sports are reporting. With eye-watering offers on the table from teams in China, the player’s representatives are seemingly going to demand a ridiculous £300,000-per-week deal.
The report adds that one source has told them the Spaniard is happy to stay at the club despite the financial allure of a move east.
It seems that some sort of ending is on the way, whether it be a dramatic exit for the former Atleti man or a big-money contract.
It all has an eerily similar feel to the incidents involving Wayne Rooney and Manchester United where on two seperate occasions the Scouse stiker demanded a wage increase while fluterring his eyes at other clubs. Rooney’s relationship with the United faithful has never recovered despite the fact he’s on the verge of becoming the club’s leading goalscorer.
Costa was adored by supporters but if all this turns out to be a ploy for further money, he could face a similar future to the England captain.
