Argentinian winger Angel di Maria remains absent from Manchester United’s squad following a 2-0 reverse at the hands of French champions Paris Saint Germain.
The rumour mill has been spinning as ever this summer, with media outlets constantly writing about Bastian Schweinsteiger, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Sergio Ramos, and Di Maria is the next cover story for transfer rumours, after the World Cup finalist had missed his flight to join up with the rest of the Manchester United squad in California last Saturday.
With talks of a move to France, PSG manager Laurent Blanc has openly admitted the club’s interest in the player and how he feels that a deal is just days away from being agreed.
“Manchester United and PSG are two big clubs and negotiations can be difficult, but we are close to the end,”
Today, Sky Sports journalist Guillem Balague has also tweeted that a deal for Di Maria has been agreed.
You would have to wonder if Blanc is keeping Di Maria in a cage in his basement, seeing as Manchester United boss Louis Van Gaal has no idea where he is.
Clearly the Dutchman is beginning to be frustrated with the situation, as clearly seen when the press asked again where di Maria was.
“I don’t know where he is,” he said.
“You can ask it every week, but I don’t answer that question. Maybe you know? I don’t know.
Hopefully a solution can be found before the move is dragged out for the entirety of August.
