This may be one of the stranger headlines you have read today, but according to reputed French publication L’Equipe, Crystal Palace have had a €38 million bid accepted for Belgium international striker Michy Batshuayi.
The 22 year-old is a man in demand at present after putting in a remarkable season for Marseille. With 17 Ligue 1 goals in 26 appearances last season, Batshuayi was included in Belgium’s Euro 2016 squad.
Last night he put in a barnstorming performance as the Red Devils blew Hungary away in the round of 16.
The bid has been accepted, but it is unclear whether Batshuayi sees his future at Selhurst Park.
‘I don’t think about that, I prefer to concentrate 100 per cent on the Euros, then we will see what happens,’ he told Sky Sports News.
‘Everybody likes the Premier League. It has a lot of spectacle, a lot of goals and many good players,’ he added. Via the Metro.
L’Equipe are not known for spreading flimsy rumours, so this story could well have meat to it.
Michy Batshuayi is a top class operator, and is one of the most promising young strikers in Europe, so this would be a major coup for Crystal Palace.
