Conflicting Real Madrid Reports Present Dream & Nightmare Scenario For Manchester United

We were really hoping that all this nonsense wouldn’t start up again…

After what seemed to be a never ending saga involving David de Gea and Real Madrid finally culminated in a laughable deadline day collapse last summer, reports earlier this month suggested that Los Blancos did not intend on moving for the Spanish stopper again this summer.

However, it looks like the whole saga could be set for a part two as reports in Spain have today suggested that Real Madrid will indeed move for De Gea once again this summer.

The report originates in Mundo Deportivo who claim that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is still determined to sign the Manchester United keeper despite the fact Keylor Navas just had a terrific season that culminated in a Champions League win.

According to the report, Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane is perfectly happy with Navas and does not want to move for De Gea. However, as is often the case in Real, the President ultimately decides who stays and who goes and Perez is determined to get his man.

However, it seems that Perez may have a mountain to climb if he wants to get the deal across the line as Keylor Navas is a firm fans favourite among Real Madrid supporters while reports also suggest that the majority of the Real first team do not feel that De Gea is needed.

Perez would also have to overcome the fact that De Gea has the same agent as new Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho in the form of Jorge Mendes.

Given the fact that the Spanish stopper has won the player of the season award at Old Trafford for the last three years running, there’s no doubt that Mourinho will do everything in his power to ensure his most prized asset does not depart.

Finally, as is often the case in today’s tranfer driven media, a completely conflicting report has simultaneously come from another Spanish publication as Cadena Ser have announced that Keylor Navas has been informed that the club are perfectly happy with his services and will not look to sign a new keeper.
