Chelsea have been recently linked with Roma midfielder, Radja Nainggolan. The 28-year-old confirmed that he had talks with new Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte, but it looks like the move may no longer be on the cards.
According to noted Italian transfer specialist Gianluca Di Marzio, Roma want to keep the Belgian star and will meet with Nainggolan’s agent at the end of the European Championships to try hold off any interest from Conte’s Chelsea.
This desire from Roma to keep Nainggolan was heightened when another one of their star midfielders, Miralem Pjanic, left for Juventus in recent days.
Nainggolan has received praise from the likes of Patrick Vieira, but what makes the Belgian midfielder so good?
Nainggolan is a mix of a holding midfielder and attacking playmaker. He has banged in 6 goals this season for Roma along with an assist.
Antonio Conte saw Nainggolan in the flesh on Monday night as he started for Belgium in their 2-0 loss to the former’s Italian side.
Although Roma are looking to keep the Belgian midfielder, one would not be surprised if this isn’t the last you hear of Nainggolan’s transfer talks this summer.
