Chelsea are looking to offload players to make way for Antonio Conte’s new arrivals.
In the wake of N’Golo Kante’s arrival at Stamford Bridge, Antonio Conte is looking to offload Nemanja Matic at an usually low price.
Although the Serbian struggled for form last season, he was not the only Chelsea player to be criticised during a campaign that saw the pensioners finish in a disappointing 10th position.
Nevertheless, the Chelsea hierarchy want to be rid of Matic, despite the fact that he was a key part of their title winning side during the 2014/15 season.
Indeed, ESPN have reported that Romain Abramovich is willing to let Matic leave Chelsea for as little as £15 million. This would see the blues take £6 million hit on a player they signed for £21 million in January 2014.
Such is Chelsea’s low valuation of Matic, Juventus have renewed their interest in the midfielder, as Paul Pogba’s inexorable transfer to Manchester United takes shape.
Not only that, but Jose Mourinho might now also be tempted to bring the Serbian to Old Trafford, a move Matic is interested in according to the Daily Mail.
Although it remains to be seen where Matic will find himself at the end of the transfer window, we very much doubt it will be at Stamford Bridge.
