Chelsea are keen to sign Italian striker Graziano Pelle from Southampton, according to Di Marzio.
The London club’s link with Pelle comes as no great shock considering Antonio Conte is taking the helm this season, and favoured playing the Southampton star alongside Eder for Italy this summer.
Conte has told Chelsea to formalise a bid for the 30-year-old next week as he prepares to begin his new career at Stamford Bridge.
However, the Blues have serious competition from another Premier League club for Pelle’s signature.
Newly rich Everton are also reportedly interested in the former Feyenoord man, and a reunion with Ronald Koeman could be tempting.
Fortunately for Pelle, he now has the choice of linking up at two clubs with a relationship intact with each manager there.
Pelle scored two goals at Euro 2016 but was incessantly criticised for telling Manuel Neuer which way he would dive for the Italian’s penalty in their shootout loss to Germany.
Pelle has scored 23 goals in 68 games for Southampton.
