Chelsea have missed out on of their long time transfer targets. AS Roma and Bosnian midfielder Miralem Pjanic has completed his medical and has now signed for the Italian champions, Juventus.
The Bosnia international was in contract with Roma until June 2018. However Pjanic has a buyout clause in the region of €32 million, which Juventus have cashed in on. He has a great touch as well as passing abilities that most players can only dream of. The former Roma midfielder is set to stay at least until 2021 with a five-year contract being signed with the Italian powerhouse Juventus.
The 26-year-old was allegedly on Antonio Conte’s long Chelsea wishlist before Juve pounced. Pjanic had twelve assists last season which was the best in the league hence the interest from the 2014/15 Premier League champions. It looks as though Conte will now be focusing on moves for the highly rated Alvaro Morata who started in Spain’s victory over the Czech Republic as well as Pjanic’s former teammate Radja Nainggolan who has been outstanding for Roma in the last few years.
What’s for certain is that Juventus have signed another world class midfielder in Pjanic who will lineup next season alongside midfielders such as Paul Pogba, Sami Khedeira, Claudio Marchisio and Hernanes.
