Chelsea find themselves five points behind fourth-placed Spurs in the Premier League after a tame performance in their visit to Manchester City today, losing 1-0. The Pensioners were second best against the league leaders, and they are now facing an uphill struggle to qualify for the Champions League next season.
However, they also have this term’s European competition to focus on, with a trip to the Nou Camp in ten days for a spot in the quarter-finals.
With the tie currently poised at 1-1, it promises to be an intriguing clash in the Catalan city, but Barca will enter as hot favourites.
However, there was a silver lining for Chelsea after a disappointing day, as Andrés Iniesta came off injured during Barca’s win over Atletico Madrid. Though 33, the Spanish midfielder remains very much a key man for Barca, and it looks like he’ll be missing the Chelsea clash.
Barcelona confirm that Iniesta has suffered a hamstring injury to his right leg and will undergo tests to determine how serious it is. He will now be a doubt to feature against Chelsea in the Champions League next week. #CFC #FCB #UCL

Barça confirm hamstring injury for Iniesta. Will have tests to determine how serious it is but Chelsea next week looks unlikely (& Coutinho cup-tied).

With Philippe Coutinho cup-tied, the La Liga side’s midfield could be seriously depleted.
This could give Antonio Conte’s side some real belief that they can cause an upset and reach the final eight in Europe’s elite competition.
