Chelsea V Leicester: Confirmed Lineups, Terry And Mahrez On The Bench

After a fortnight off for the international break, the Premier League returns this afternoon, with the early game seeing Chelsea entertain Leicester.

The very much not sacked Blues manager Antonio Conte confirmed in Friday’s press conference that captain John Terry was available again, but the 35-year-old has not yet been slotted into the manager’s experimental three-man defence.

Willian is not available having been given time off on compassionate leave, while Cesc Fabregas and John Obi Mikel are not fit. Victor Moses, who finally seems to be part of the Chelsea first-team picture under Conte, starts once again (as does Pedro) in a game that sees N’Golo Kanté face his former club.

Premier League champions Leicester are enduring the joint-second worst ever title defence (sharing the dubious honour with today’s opponents’ defence last season), and after suffering heavy defeats at Anfield and Old Trafford, the chances of a repeat title miracle are all but over.

Nampalys Mendy has picked up an ankle injury, while Danny Drinkwater starts despite being a doubt initially.

Ahmed Musa starts in place of Islam Slimani, while Jeffrey Schlupp comes in for Riyad Mahrez.
