Chelsea Agree £29 Million Fee For Leicester City’s N’Golo Kante [Report]

Leicester City’s N’Golo Kante could be making his way to London after news broke that Chelsea have agreed a £29 million deal to sign the center midfielder.

According to a report in Le Parisien, a feast of top European clubs were keeping tabs on the French international, including Champions League winners, Real Madrid, and English side, Arsenal.

The Foxes offered Kante a new contract earlier this year, with a salary stretching past £100,o00-a-week, but the 25-year-old is keen on leaving the King Power Stadium for newer pastures.

Kante played an important role in Leicester City’s surprising Premier League triumph last season that saw them finish 10 points ahead of Arsenal, in turn securing European football for the club.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte certainly wants the hard-working midfielder at Stamford Bridge next season, offering significantly more than the player’s £20m release clause in the hope to scare off interest from other clubs.

If the deal is to happen, the Foxes will lose one of their star players but make a considerable profit from his sale, having only paid French side Caen £5.6 million for his services last summer.
