The much maligned striker will looking to improve on his Champions League debut peformnace against Borussia Dortmund where he missed some crucial chances for the Gunners. The former Manchester United striker may have a point to prove to the doubters who suggest that he lacks the clinical touch needed to play for a top team.
Welbeck did impress against Aston Villa and if he a big performance in tonight’s crucial Champions League tie for the Gunners would begin to prove his doubters wrong. It is undoubtedly the biggest game of Welbeck’s Arsenal career.
The Dutch midfielder has long been heralded for his creative talents and while he may not be the force of old that led Jose Mourinho’s Inter Milan to Champions League victory, the 30-year-old still has the creative talent to trouble this Arsenal defence.
The Turkish club are renowned for having a poor away record and they need to provide some sort of threat tonight. Dutch playmaker Sneijder is the man most likely to trouble this Arsenal rearguard.
Expected Starting XI’s

Galatasaray: Muslera; Telles, Chedjou, Kaya, Zan, Melo; Altintop, Inan, Sneijder; Yilmaz, Pandev
Arsenal struggled to get past Besiktas in the qualification stage and they will not be taking this Galatasaray side lightly tonight. However the Turks may not have the defensive quality to deal with the likes of Ozil, Sanchez, Cazorla and Welbeck and Arsenal will be expected to win this one.
The likes of Ozil and Sanchez will need to perform, especialy considering the former Barcelona winger was left out at the weekend. Arsenal should have too much firepower for the Turkish club tonight.
This writer is predicting a 3-0 win for the Gunners, which is a must win game for Arsene Wenger’s side.
