Celtic’s Brendan Rodgers Brutally Shuts Down Reporter For Asking A Ridiculous Question

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers was in no mood for frivolity ahead of his side’s Champions League clash with Barcelona on Wednesday night.

Rodgers was speaking to the media on Tuesday ahead of the match at Celtic Park, when naturally yhe topic of discussion turned to Barca forward Lionel Messi. The Argentinte wizard scored a hat-trick in Barcelona’s 7-0 demolition of Celtic at the Camp Nou earlier this season, and Rodgers is quite aware of the threat that he poses to any side.

The former Liverpool boss argued that Barcelona are a different side with him in the team as opposed to without, citing the weekend 0-0 draw at home to Malaga (which Messi missed through illness) as a recent example.

A reporter in attendance tried to have some fun with that and, possibly looking for a soundbite, introduced the fabled Loch Ness monster into the discussion. Unfortunately for said reporter, Rodgers was having absolutely none of it and silenced him with an unflinchingly brutal put-down….

Rodgers gets ready to face Nessie Messi and co. at Parkhead as they look to claw their way back into contention for third place in the group and the Europa League place that goes with that. The last time Barcelona came to town was in September 2013, when a late Cesc Fabregas goal gave the visitors all three points in a 1-0 win.
