Celtic’s atmosphere is somewhat famous across Europe, with many of the game’s legends remarking upon it having faced the 60,000-strong crowd in Glasgow. Nonetheless, they face stiff opposition if they are to be voted on as having the best fans over the past year.
The award was brought in by football’s governing body last year to pay tribute to the best supporters from the previous year. This is Borussia Dortmund’s second year in contention for the honour, having shared the prize with Liverpool last year for their joint rendition of “You’ll Never Walk Alone” before a Europa League clash at Anfield in 2016.
The award will be given out in early 2018 at FIFA’s “The Best” awards, wherein their Player and Coach of the Year prizes will also be handed out.
