Celtic maintained their winning run in the Scottish Premiership on an afternoon of high drama at Fir Park.
Brendan Rodgers’ side took on Motherwell in the league’s early Saturday kick-off, and looked were heading towards their first defeat of the league season as they went in at the half time break 2-0 down thanks to a double from Louis Moult.
Callum McGregor pulled the away side back into it three minutes after the restart ti halve the deficit, and Patrick Roberts levelled it up with twenty minutes remaining with a back-post header.
What followed after was two minutes of madness, as two more goals tumbled in.
While the general logic would have been that Celtic would go from there and win 3-2, Motherwell had other ideas and scored almost immediately after the kick-off, Lonel Ainsworth finding himself unmarked at the back post to restore the home side’s lead.
The score would be level once again barely a minute later as Stuart Armstrong ensured a blockbuster finish with a neat turn and shot to steer the ball past Craig Samson in the Motherwell goal.
The travelling fans would have to wait until the final seconds for the winner, as midfielder Tom Rogic struck to send Celtic eight points clear of Hearts and prepare them for a midweek to trip to the Etihad to face Manchester City with a well-taken effort.
