Ollie Horgan’s league leaders Finn Harps travel to Stradbrook to face Eddie Gormley’s Cabinteely as the Donegal outfit look to continue their unbeaten start to the season.
The hosts, Cabinteely, have lost three of their last four games, the latest being a 7-0 defeat at the hands of Wexford Youths just last week, meaning Gormley’s side are now down to 7th in the league, just a point above Waterford United, who are bottom of the league.
The home side will have to do without the services of Kevin Knight, who has been given an additional two-match suspension following his red card for dissent at full-time in Cabinteely’s 2-2 draw at Athlone Town two weeks ago. Cabinteely, at the time of writing, have not made available any news regarding injuries.
As for the visitors, Finn Harps, they are currently top of the league, five points clear of Wexford Youths. The Donegal outfit have enjoyed a superb start to the season and remain unbeaten, winning six and drawing two of their opening eight games.
Harps have scored just eleven goals in eight games so far this season, with seven different players on the scoresheet. However, seven clean sheets in eight matches for keeper Ciarán Gallagher and his defence has been key to the impressive start made by Horgan’s side.
Frenchman Wilfried Tagbo is available for selection after serving a suspension following his red card against Wexford Youths. Similarly to Cabinteely, Harps have not, at the time of writing, announced any injury news.
Speaking to www.finnharps.com before the game, Horgan made it clear that he doesn’t expect the game to be as easy as it looks on paper, issuing a reminder of some of Cabinteely’s results at Stradbrook so far this season.
“Eddie Gormley and Dave Mackey will have them, as always, excellently organised and prepared and will have their homework done on us also.
“They also have players of the quality of Shane O’Neill, Ger Pender, Rob Maloney and Jamie McGlynn. It should be remembered that Cabinteely have already beaten Wexford and Waterford at home.”
