According to reports in France, Paris Saint-Germain have just offered defensive midfielder Adrien Rabiot to Premier League giants Arsenal
The 20-year-old talent has been linked with a move away from PSG for some time and reports now suggest that his agent has been instructed to find the player a new club.
Rabiot started for PSG last weekend but was unfortunately sent off for two yellow cards after only 29 minutes in his side’s opening match against Lille OSC.
The midfielder is under contract with the French champions until 2019 but it now looks like his days at the club may be numbered. Club president Nasser Al Khelaifi has spoken highly of the youngster of late stating that the player remains an important part of the PSG squad.
However, the lack of playing time afforded to the French international under manager Laurent Blanc has sent another message to the player himself and it now seems that Rabiot also wants out and that he would be open to a move to London.
Arsenal have been linked with a number of defensive midfielders since the transfer window opened, however simultaneous reports are now suggesting that Arsene Wenger may not be interested in any other midfield signings.
Francis Coquelin was Arsenal’s breakout performer last season and many have now suggested that Wenger will turn down any potential midfield signings and give his full backing to Coquelin with Flamini and Arteta as back up.
Meanwhile, rumours persist linking Arsenal to Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema but today, the story has taken another twist as journalist Kike Marin of El Confidencial has stated that The Gunners already have their eyes on an alternative… and he sure ain’t a bad one.
