Bournemouth kicked off 2018 by scoring one of the scrappiest goals of the season in their 2-2 draw against Brighton.
With ten minutes remaining at the Amex and the vistors 2-1 down, Bournemouth began to surge forward in search of a precious point – and that moment arrived courtesy of Callum Wilson in somewhat ridiculous fashion.
Brighton failed to adequately deal with a corner into the box, and the ball ricocheted between both sides as a desperate scramble ensued. A “clearance” bounced off Bournemouth defender Adam Smith before Wilson was able to poke home past Brighton keeper Maty Ryan.

That Bournemouth goal is a visual representation of how I feel today.

No point waiting the rest of the season to give out the Puskas goal of the season award, just hand it to Bournemouth now.

The result, another positive finish after the 2-1 victory over Sam Allardyce’s Everton at the weekend, takes Bournemouth above Southampton to 13th in the Premier League table.
For Brighton, meanwhile, they remain one place (and two) points higher in the table as they look to consolidate their place in England’s top tier.
