Watch: Real Madrid Take Advantage Of An Almighty Bayern Goalkeeper Blunder

Bayern Munich’s Champions League hopes suffered a huge blow just 20 seconds into the second half of their clash with Real Madrid.

With the score nicely poised at 1-1 between the two sides at half time at the Bernabeu, th Bundesliga champions would have looked to push on and restore their lost advantage.

However, unfathomably early in the second half, those plans took a battering. played hat looked like a simple backpass to Sven Ulreich – only for the goalkeeper to slip at the worst possible moment.

Ulreich, deputising for long-term injury absentee Manuel Neuer, allowed the ball to squirm under him – and Karim Benzema was on hand to tap home into an empty net.

An extremely open game in the Spanish capital has seen Real come from a goal down, just as they did in Munich last week. James Rodriguez, playing against his parent club, missed a glorious chance to restore Bayern’s lead on the night late in the first half, while Cristiano Ronaldo blasted over from a good position with the chance to virtually put the tie to bed.

Bayern have since found the net for a second time, courtesy of James. 2-2 on the night (4-3 aggregate) at the time of writing – one more goal for Jupp Heynckes’ side would see them through to the final.
