Arsenal have been given a massive boost in their bid to keep hold of Hector Bellerin.
Over recent days, rumours of Barcelona’s interest in Hector Bellerin have gathered pace. On Monday, the Daily Mail reported that the La Liga side were prepared to pay £30 million for the defender.
This story was quickly followed by a report in Dan Balon, suggesting that Arsenal would be willing to sell the 21 year-old for £40 million. The Daily Star then even claimed that Barcelona had already told the right back that they want him to return to the Nou Camp, and could make their move during the January transfer window.
Although Arsenal fans would like to dismiss such speculation, the fact that the rumour has continued to gain traction would suggest that Bellerin is on Barcelona’s radar.
However, before the Catalan club can make a move to sign the right back, they will first have to offload Aleix Vidal, according to the Daily Star.
Although the 27 year old Spanish defender only joined Barcelona last season, he has not made an impact at the Nou Camp.
Indeed, Barca boss Luis Enrique, appears to be desperate to offload the Vidal, and has recently even selected a third choice goalkeeper and a number of unfit players ahead of the right back in his match day squads.
Nevertheless, despite Barcelona’s willingness to offload Vidal, there doesn’t appear to be much interest, leaving open the possibility of Bellerin remaining at Arsenal for the time being at least.
