There has been a lot of talk this transfer window about who Arsenal may sign. While it was initially predicted that they would sign a striker, with the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Edinson Cavani being touted, they now may struggle to hold onto their players.
Several reports this morning are suggesting that European champions Barcelona are hot on the heels of Gunners midfielder Aaron Ramsey, and are looking to swoop for his signature in the summer.
Ramsey, 25, was a key figure for Wales as they qualified for their first major tournament since 1958, and has grown into one of Arsenal’s most important players.
However, his performances have not gone unnoticed, and have attracted the attention of Europe’s best side.
While Barca boast undoubtedly the world’s best attack in Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez, they are looking to beef up the midfield, and The Express are reporting that acquisition of Ramsey is high on their priority list.
Representatives of the clubs were present at Anfield during the week as Ramsey scored in an exciting 3-3 draw with Liverpool.
Arsenal will not stand in the way if Ramsey decides to go to La Liga to play with the world’s best players, but they will hold out for a high price, believed to be in the region of £50-60 million.
This would come as a major blow to the Gunners, who are looking to drive on a win their first Premier League title since 2003/2004.
