Watch: Man United’s Eric Bailly Scores One Of The Most Bizarre Own Goals You’ll See All Season

On his first start since returning from a lengthy injury, Eric Bailly was putting in a brlliant performance for Man United against Liverpool.

The Ivory Coast international was commanding at the back and shielding the goal form Jurgen Klopp’s side – and then undid a lot of that by putting the ball in the net for them.

2-0 up in the second half and looking relatively comfortable despite a wave of Liverpool pressure, there was little on when Sadio Mane sent a low cross into the box. Bailly, attempting to clear it using the wrong leg, inadvertently sent the ball behind him and past the stretching David De Gea into his own net.

As if to make matters worse, Bailly injured himself in scoring the own goal – though so far he has seemingly been able to run it off.

At the time of writing, it remains 2-1 to Man United in the closing stages.
