According to a journalist with a solid reputation when it comes to Arsenal news, Arsene Wenger has been told that his job at the Emirates is safe as long as he spends big this summer.
That @deathirwin piece this morning. Mark had strong Arsenal links for many years. If he has written that i would trust he’s been told that

Reports yesterday morning suggested that Arsene Wenger may be on his way out of the Emirates at the end of the season with some claiming that Jose Mourinho was being considered as a potential replacement for the French manager. However, it seems today that it will be the same old story for Arsenal fans.
With the Gunners currently sitting in third place in the Premier League table and looking likely to finish the season in the same position, many Arsenal fans are finally fed up with their long-serving manager and believe the time for change has arrived. It seems the board disagrees however as highly regarded Arsenal journalist Mark Irwin has claimed that the ‘Wenger Out’ fans are set to be ignored.
Writing in The Sun, Irwin claims that Wenger has been ‘instructed’ to spend big this summer and that the Arsenal board want some big name signings. Irwin lists the likes of Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Toni Kroos as potential targets and states that Wenger risks losing his job this summer unless he finally spends a significant portion of Arsenal’s infamous war chest.
Arsene Wenger is being ordered to go on the biggest spending spree of his career.
And Arsenal will not consider giving him a new deal until he starts competing in the transfer market. -Mark Irwin writing in The Sun.
