The long-running saga that has been Arsene Wenger’s future at Arsenal finally looks to be entering its final chapter, with the Gunners boss revealing after his side’s FA Cup final victory over Chelsea the exact time he will disclose what he’s to do next.

Arsenal’s win over Chelsea could at this moment mean one of two things: that he has finished on a high and wants to bow out as a winner or he wants to have one more crack at trying to bring the Premier League back to north London.

Either way it looks as though we will find out in the middle of next week, after the BBC’s Dan Walker pressed him on the subject in the moments after the Gunners beat Chelsea on Saturday evening.

Asked if he will be at the club next season, Wenger replied:

“Wednesday or Thursday it will all be clear.”

Whatever decision is made next week, Wenger has cemented his place in the history of the north London giants and even those who would prefer to see him go cannot fault the man for the service he has given to the club, which has so far wielded ten major trophies in just over 20 years.
