Arsenal’s disastrous form continued today with a dreadful first half performance at Anfield getting the appropriate punishment from Liverpool.
Gooners were already on edge before the game even started with Alexis Sanchez, unquestionably their, and arguably the league’s, best player, left on the bench for the massive game.
The visitors got off to a miserable start with Roberto Firmino putting Jurgen Klopp’s out-of-form side in front inside ten minutes. Arsenal barely threatened the Kop End goal and shortly before the break, it got even worse for Wenger with Sadio Mane doubling the Reds’ lead with a driven strike.
Alexis made his entrance at half-time and made an immediate difference, soon setting up Danny Welbeck who dinked the ball over Simon Mignolet to give what appeared to be a way back into the game.
Despite creating far more chances, they couldn’t find an equaliser and it finished 3-1 after Gini Wijnaldum finished off a late counter-attack to seal the game. All that means Arsenal drop out of the top four and sit just a point above Manchester United, adding further pressure to the pressure on Wenger.

It should no longer be Wenger in or out argument. It should be do you want him to die quickly or suffer
