Arsenal Striker Crisis Could See Youth Team Prodigy Promoted To First Team

Arsenal’s inability to sign a top striker during their torrid summer transfer season could see Arsène Wenger being forced to promote youth team prodigy Jeff Reine-Adélaïde to the first team to shore up the gaps up front.

With the new Premier League season a little over two weeks away, Arsenal are already faced with something of a crisis up front. Danny Welbeck will not return until the new year and Olivier Giroud will be absent for at least the first game against Liverpool on August 14th, as he recovers from his summer exploits for France at Euro 2016.

Add to this the absence of Alexis Sanchez due to injury and suddenly Arsenal become a side with very few attacking options. It was expected that Wenger would be forced to rely on Chuba Akpom up front but now, following the omission of Reine-Adélaïde from the recently announced youth side line up, speculation is mounting that Wenger has promoted the 18 year old Frenchman to the first team.

Following his arrival from French side Lens only last season, Reine-Adélaïde has been lighting up the youth and U21 sides, with silky skills and a domineering physicality. Marked as a potential future star at the club, it would appear that the young man from Champigny-sur-Marne, a suburb of Paris, is about to get his chance at stardom earlier than planned.

If this goal against Swansea in an U21 game last season is anything to go by, Arsenal fans need not worry and will soon be singing his name in the stands.
