Arsene Wenger has been given a very timely injury boost as Alexis Sanchez, Arsenal and Chile’s superstar midfielder, shares a hugely positive update on the gruesome ankle injury he suffered during last month’s Copa America.
Arsenal have been more than a little underwhelming this summer with regard to big name signings, with the exception of Granit Xhaka of course, so Wenger will once again be relying heavily on the squad he had last season.
Sanchez was one of the Gunners’ most exciting and impressive players last term and he once again proved his worth this summer by lifting the Copa America title with Chile, in addition to the personal accolade of the Golden Ball award.
After the tournament Sanchez gave Arsenal fans serious cause for concern by posting some horrendous images of his left ankle following the culmination of tackles he received while on international duty.
Now however, the diminutive midfielder has once again taken to Instagram to update his fans on his battered ankle. Wenger and Arsenal supporters alike will all be breathing a collective sigh of relief judging by the image below.
Roughly translated, Sanchez says,
“Having treatment with Dani to get better soon.”
With the start of the Premier League season a mere month away, news of Sanchez’s progress will come as a huge relief to Wenger.
Arsenal’s biggest rivals, Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City, have all been strengthening over the summer, so now, more than ever, the magic of Sanchez will be needed to help Arsenal challenge for that ever elusive Premier League title.
