Arsene Wenger is keen to tie down his best players.

Throughout the transfer window, Arsenal fans lived in fear of the constant rumours linking Alexis Sanchez with a move away from the Emirates Stadium.

Indeed, numerous reports in Italy suggested that Juventus were will to make a massive offer for the attacker following the sale of Paul Pogba to Manchester United.

Although the Chilean has yet to sign a new contract with the Gunners, it would come as a surprise to most observers if he did in fact leave in the coming months.

Nevertheless, with Mesut Ozil’s contract negotiations having only restarted in recent weeks, nothing can be taken for granted, particularly when it comes to Jack Wilshere.

While the midfielder’s talent is beyond doubt, his susceptibility to injury has seen Wilshere’s stock fall in recent months, and was subsequently loaned out to Bournemouth in order to regain his match sharpness and prove his fitness.

Despite this, Arsene Wenger is committed to keeping the England international at the Emirates for the foreseeable future, revealing to The Independent, that contract negotiations will get underway in December.

The news will come as a relief to the player in particular, as his move to Bournemouth could have signaled the beginning of a slow cycle of decline.
