Watch: Alexis Sánchez’s Disgusted Reaction To Being Subbed In Arsenal’s Win Against Swansea

Arsenal leapfrogged Liverpool in the Premier League table on Saturday afternoon with a comprehensive 4-0 win against Swansea at the Liberty Stadium.

After a somewhat even opening exchange, the Gunners took the lead with less than ten minutes remaining of the first half courtesy of another strike from in-form Olivier Giroud.

Two Swansea own goals in the second half put the tie to bed, and Alexis Sánchez put the final nail in the coffin with just over fifteen minutes still to play.

With the away side cruising, Arsene Wenger understandably took the decision to bring Alexis off to keep his legs fresher for upcoming matches (as well as giving Danny Welbeck a bit more game time in his recovery) – but the forward was not a bit happy with the decision…

Alexis was clearly frustrated at the substitution and made no attempt to hide it. The Chilean international wanted to stay on until the final whistle and the reaction will only heighten speculation (rightly or wrongly) that he is unhappy at the Emirates.

Wenger has since moved to play down the incident and called for focus on the result itself, but it has still become a talking point regardless.

Arsenal fans on social media were divided as to whether his conduct was appropriate – some saw it as a sign that he is desperate to play every minute and should be commended for it, while others felt that he should have been more professional and thought about the team:

Arsenal’s next match is at home to Burnley next Sunday.
