While Euro 2016 is making the major headlines in football this week, the transfer market is very much alive, and for the top Premier League clubs there is still business to be done. Former Arsenal star Ray Parlour said the Gunners should target one man this summer.

“I’m sure there’s a lot of clubs looking at [N’Golo] Kante – he’s been superb for Leicester City,” Parlour told Sky Sports.

The midfielder featured as France opened their Euro 2016 campaign with a win over Romania on Friday night, and his performances throughout the year for the Premier League champions suggest that he would be a major coup for any side.

“He’s like two men in midfield with his work rate and the way he sets play up. You need that platform from midfield – he would be a great signing for Arsenal if they could get him.

“If he was in the Arsenal side, playing behind Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla and Alexis Sanchez, then Arsenal would have a formidable midfield. I’m sure if he’s available then Arsene Wenger will definitely be interested in a player of his quality.”

This is high praise from Parlour, and Kante would certainly be a target for Arsene Wenger. It is believed that if striker Jamie Vardy is to depart, then a lot of last season’s squad could leave Leicester City.

Don’t rule this move out.
