Arsenal Nab A Key Leicester Man, But It Isn’t A Player

MANCHESTER, ENGLAND - FEBRUARY 06: Riyad Mahrez (2nd R) of Leicester City celebrates scoring his team's second goal with his team mates Shinji Okazaki (1st R), Danny Simpson (2nd L) and Jamie Vardy (1st L) during the Barclays Premier League match between Manchester City and Leicester City at the Etihad Stadium on February 6, 2016 in Manchester, England.

When you think of names behind Leicester’s incredible season, you tend to think of Vardy, Mahrez, or Kanté. But you may not know the name of Arsenal’s latest acquisition from the midlands club: Ben Wrigglesworth.

He may not be a player, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been instrumental to Leicester’s dizzying heights this season.

Wrigglesworth, head of technical scouting at Leicester, was instrumental in the process of bringing the aforementioned key players to the club. He will now set his sights on doing the same for Arsenal.

“It was a very difficult decision, leaving Leicester,” Wrigglesworth announced on Twitter.

“But I had to take an opportunity that doesn’t come around very often.”

In further tweets, the man formerly an intern at Notts County thanked the club and wished them the best for the future.

With players like Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy signed for the surprisingly cheap prices of £400,000 and £1m respectively, the scout seems to fit well into Arsenal’s current philosophy of bargain-buying.

Arsene Wenger will hope his new addition can continue this outstanding work and help the club bring in exciting new players this summer.
