Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger could only watch from the stands as his side threw away a one-goal lead to suffer defeat at the hands of Bournemouth on Sunday.
Despite taking the lead early into the second half through Hector Bellerin, the Ginners’ defensive frailties were brutally exposed again and Bournemouth were able to turn the game on its head with two goals in five monutes courtesy of Callum Wilson and Jordon Ibe.
Arsenal fans had already been fearing the worst when it was confirmed that Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil would not be travelling with the squad – the latter injured but the former might well have played his last game for the club as speculation rages over a possible move to either Manchester City or Manchester United.
2-1 the final score, and the Cherries pick up a huge three points in the relegation battle – and collect a first win over Arsenal in the process.
For Arsenal, however, after a week that saw the club exit the FA Cup at the first hurdle and put up a spirited but alarmingly limited display against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final the malaise has well and truly set in once again.

Very briefly in the autumn, it seemed Arsenal *might* do more than stagnate further this season. It’s now one win in seven and, with Sanchez and others trying to leave, it’s actually turning out even worse than predicted. A club in desperate need of change, sadly.

#Arsenal right now:
First ever defeat to Bournemouth.
Alexis Sanchez joining Man United/City.
Mesut Özil still doesn’t sign a new contract.
Out of the FA Cup.
No Champions League football.
6th in Premier League.
