Arsenal Linked With £26 Million Move For Croatian Midfielder After Wenger Hints At More Signings

Arsenal’s transfer strategy finally kicked into gear this week.

Although Arsenal had been expected to sign Shkodran Mustafi for a number of weeks, their move for Deportivo de La Coruna’s Lucas Perez came as a surprise to long standing observers of the Gunners.

However, Arsene Wenger’s transfer activity may not be finished yet, after reports in Italy claimed that the Arsenal have registered an interest in Inter Milan’s Marcelo Brozovic.

The box-to-box midfielder has become available due to Inter’s need to balance their books after signing Gabriel Barbosa and Joao Mario.

However, Arsenal could face competition from Chelsea, after Brozovic’s agent told a Croation publication (via Football Italia) that both Premier League clubs were interested in his client.

I heard that Chelsea representatives are in Milan and that Arsenal are also prepared to sign him. Inter are pushing to sell to one of these two clubs who are prepared to pay a sum that satisfies all concerned.

This is the second time Arsenal have been linked with a move for Brozovic in this transfer window, after reported Inter had slapped a €30 price tag on the player following initial interest from the Gunners.

Indeed, despite signing Granit Xhaka, Arsenal have persistently been linked with moves for further midfield reinforcements, and were reported to have made a £14 offer for Juventus’ Mario Lemina earlier this month.

Not only that, but yesterday Wenger hinted at the fact that Arsenal remain active in the transfer market telling The Telegraph, ‘Will we sign anybody before the end of the transfer window? I am 99 per cent confident’.

The next three days everybody will find agreements. It looks like it will be frenetic. Everybody has sat on their pounds. We know they will all splash out now.
