Arsenal had a slow start against Southampton at the Emirates this afternoon, but they have woken up in spectacular fashion.
The Gunners, with new signings Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Pérez in the starting eleven, went 1-0 down after 18 minutes when a Dusan Tadic free-kick rebounded off the crossbar and in off of unlucky goalkeeper Petr Cech.
Indeed, the lead was deserved – Southampton had the better of the play up until that point and were full value for their goal.
However, the equaliser was to come in the most unlikely of ways just over ten minutes later.
Southampton failed to clear their lines after a corner came into their box, and when the ball fell to defender Laurent Koscielny with his back to goal, the French international did this…

Koscielny, celebrating his 31st birthday today, scored an acrobatic overhead kick that most forwards would be extremely proud of.
The score remains at 1-1 with the first half drawing to a close. With Alexis Sánchez, Granit Xhaka, Olivier Giroud and Alex Iwobi to call upon should they need them, Arsenal will fancy their chances now of overturning the deficit and claiming their second victory of the season.
