Arsenal Eye Up France Star As Possible Alexis Sanchez Replacement

Arsenal may have won resoundingly against Hull on Saturday, but Arsene Wenger’s comments about Alexis Sanchez afterwards definitely suggests that there is bad blood between the pair.

Antoine Griezmann has been without doubt one of the world’s best players in the past year after a string of outstanding performances for Atletico Madrid and France, and had been revealed as the ‘transfer madness’ that Wenger planned this summer.

However, the Evening Standard have made a wild claim that the Gunners are set to re-enter the race to sign the 25-year-old, who is rumoured to have a gargantuan release clause of €100 million.

The Daily Star have also backed the story, who claim Manchester United and Chelsea will rival the Gunners for the Frenchman’s signature.

There have also been rumours that Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City could make a move to sign Sanchez, who has as of yet refused to sign an extension to his current Arsenal deal, which runs out in 2018.

Griezmann could replace Sanchez at Arsenal.

Mesut Ozil is another Arsenal star who is locked in discussions over a new deal, but is not nearly creating as much controversy as Sanchez, who was adamant in being the penalty taker in yesterday’s victory.

Such an arrogant decision clearly angered Wenger, who insisted that Santi Cazorla was the designated player for spot-kicks.

All the factors are hinting at the Chilean’s imminent departure. Could we yet see Griezmann in an Arsenal shirt?

It all seems to lead to whether Sanchez will remain at the Emirates..
