Arsenal have confirmed their first signing of the summer, after announcing the acquisition of Sead Kolasinac from Bundesliga side Schalke.
The defender, who turns 24 this month, made 94 Bundesliga appearances for Schalke and a further 23 in the Champions League and Europa League.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina international fullback is well regarded, and this appears to be a tidy bit of business from the Gunners.
Kolasinac is not afraid to get forward, chipping in with eight goals or assists this season. There were only two Bundesliga defenders to trump him in this category.
While Gunners fans will be happy to see the side making acquisitions, they will be hoping for a real statement signing from the club in the coming weeks and months, so that they can break back into the top four and challenge for the Premier League title.
Having won the FA Cup for the third time in four years, Arsenal will be keen to push on and find success in other competitions.
Arsene Wenger has signed two-year deal at the club, and the priority this summer will be to finish invest in the squad so that they can bounce back following a disappointing finish in the Premier League this season.
