L’Equipe Claim Arsenal Have Approached Lille For Versatile £13m Full-Back

Arsenal have approached Lille regarding the possible transfer of their talented full-back Djibril Sidibé according to L’Equipe.

Monaco had agreed to a £13m deal for Sidibé with former Manchester City midfielder Rony Lopes joining Lille on loan, but complications have ensued since and Arsenal have swooped late.

Sidibé would be an enormous asset for Arsenal to attain as he has the unique ability to play as either a left-back or a right-back, who was on stand-by for France’s Euro 2016 squad.

Sidibé is now regarded as a priority for Arsene Wenger, which could signal the end of Kieran Gibbs’s career at the Emirates.

Nacho Monreal has already stolen Gibbs’s place in the team, and should Sidibé sign, the English defender will no longer be required.
