The talks, should Arsene Wenger and Ivan Gazidis be willing to loosen the purse strings, would likely be relatively straightforward. The player, one would imagine, is keen to make a move to one of the game’s biggest clubs and one of the most lucrative leagues.
The Frenchman sustained a hip injury during his team’s defeat at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain last night.
Lyon’s manager,Bruno Genesio, to spoke the press after the game about the Arsenal target.
“It’s worrying. It’s a big downside of the evening in addition to the defeat.
“This is our attack leader, he is needed. It’s too early to tell about the injury. There will be examinations early this week.”
The North London club saw a £29 million bid rejected last month with the French club claiming Lacazette was “irreplaceable” and represents a key part of their young squad.
Reports last week claimed that Arsenal were refusing to up their bid for the player past previous evaluations and that the deal was all but dead. It remains to be seen if Wenger is truly willing to invest this summer.
