Antonio Conte Willing To Part With Eden Hazard To Fund Arrival Of Key Target [Report]

Chelsea supporters: don’t read this while eating your cornflakes, but a report in one of Monday morning’s newspapers has claimed that manager Antonio Conte is willing to allow Belgian playmaker Eden Hazard leave Stamford Bridge in order to secure his number one transfer target.

As reported on Saturday, media outlets published mixed updates on whether or not the Blues are closing in on signing Juventus lynchpin Leonardo Bonucci, with The Sun insisting that the Serie A club would be open to a switch if it included up to £50 million plus midfielder Cesc Fabregas.

However, the Daily Mail believes that Juventus are set to offer their key defender a new contract in order to fend off sustained interest from the Premier League.

The latest update, as per The Sun, is that the Italian – quite incredibly – will now suggest that Hazard become part of the exchange, in order to lower the amount of cash needed to complete the deal. It is believed, however, that Juve boss Max Allegri has a preference to bring in Spaniard Fabregas.

Despite having an indifferent season in the Premier League last time out, Hazard has been back towards his best this term – providing Chelsea with plenty of attacking playing, assists and goals. Blues supporters, therefore, will not be impressed at the thought of possibly losing their midfield star.

Juventus, for their part, are desperate to strengthen their options in the middle of the park having lost a number of key midfielders in recent years- Paul Pogba being the most recent departure to Manchester United.

There is a long way for this story to run yet; however, this isn’t the best of starts to the week for any Chelsea fan…
