Watch: Screaming Algeria Manager Absolutely Unloads On ‘Enemy’ Journalist During Press Conference


Things got a bit heated in a press conference for the Algeria national team…

Following Ireland’s 5-1 thrashing at home to Denmark on Tuesday evening, Martin O’Neill walked off during his post-match interview with RTÉ’s Tony O’Donoghue. While the duo don’t always see eye-to-eye,  it’s nothing compared to what unfolded in Algeria!

Riyad Mahrez and Co. endured a disappointing World Cup qualification campaign, finishing bottom of Group B behind Nigeria, Zambia and Cameroon, picking up just two points in six games.

After a 3-0 friendly win over the Central African Republic, Mahrez and manager Rabah Madjer faced the media. The Leicester City star was interrupted by Madjer who took exception with the line of questioning from one of the journalists, labelling him as “the enemy of the national team”.

“Retire and let the next generation do the job!”

This is quite the argument…

Algeria have been to four World Cups in their history, and were bidding to reach their third consecutive finals after featuring at South Africa and Brazil in 2010 and 2014 respectively. However, the wait now goes on until their fifth appearance.
