Arsenal fans will be relieved to hear news that doesn’t involve Juventus regarding their star man Alexis Sanchez.
Chile defeated Argentina 4-2 on penalties following a goalless 120 minutes in the Copa America final last night, successfully defending the trophy and condemning Argentina to yet another final defeat.
Alexis Sanchez starred for La Roja throughout the tournament, scoring three and making another in six games as the Chileans swept past Panama, crushed Mexico 7-0 and defeated Colombia on route to the final.
After the final, Sanchez was presented with the Copa’s Golden Ball, which is given to the best player at the tournament.
Eduardo Vargas also won the Golden Boot for the second successive year whilst goalkeeper Claudio Bravo won the Golden Glove.
Arsenal’s Twitter account was quick to praise their most instrumental attacker amidst growing rumours of interest from Italian champions Juventus.
