Alexis Sanchez has reassured Arsenal fans that the injury he suffered in the Copa America playing for Chile is not as serious as first feared.
Gabriel Mercado put a premature end to Sanchez’s final in the competition and Arsenal fans grew seriously concerned following what looked like a horrific challenge.

Sanchez posted on his Twitter images of his badly swollen ankle, followed by the heavy bruising sustained upon the ankle in the hours since.
Cuarto día de mis vacaciones, encerrado en el hotel aburrido jajaja 😂… Pero ya estoy mucho mejor. 🏆✌🏆 pic.twitter.com/i0KN0JBsnE

However, in the Chilean’s mind his ankle is not a major cause for concern.
‘Fourth day of my vacation, locked up in the hotel bored hahaha…. But I’m already much better.’
‘Your body can endure almost everything… it is your mind that you have to convince’.
Gunners fans will be pleased to hear Sanchez’s calming words, and hope the wide man will be available fit and ready for pre-season friendlies in America at the end of July.
Although it may not be injury that prevents Sanchez from playing in red and white, what could engineer the Chilean away from the Emirates is the constant rumours surrounding the 27-year-old with a move to Italian champions Juventus.
Here’s hoping we will still see Sanchez gracing the Premier League next season.
